About Shannon Kossick

Nevada Trauma therapy & Counseling

About Me

My work is grounded in a trauma-informed, mind-body approach to healing. I integrate EMDR, somatic therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), along with trauma-sensitive yoga, to support healing that is not just cognitive but embodied.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent years in a different professional path that looked stable on the outside but felt disconnected from what mattered most. That experience shaped how I understand change — not as something forced, but as something that unfolds when there is enough safety, clarity, and support.

Today, my work focuses on helping adults navigate stress, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, and patterns that feel difficult to shift. I approach this work with curiosity, compassion, and the belief that many of the struggles people experience are not signs that something is wrong — but signs that something inside has been trying to protect them.

About You

You might be someone who is holding a lot together on the outside — but internally, things feel overwhelming, heavy, or hard to make sense of.

You may be navigating stress, emotional swings, or grief that doesn’t fully resolve. Or you might notice patterns like perfectionism, people-pleasing, or feeling stuck in ways that don’t seem to shift, no matter how much you think about them.

I can help.

This work is about creating a space where you can begin to understand what you’re carrying — without pressure, without judgment, and without needing to have everything figured out.

Over time, many people begin to feel more grounded, more connected, and more able to move through life with greater clarity and steadiness. Not because everything is perfect — but because something inside feels different.

Clinical Approach

My work integrates:

  • Trauma Therapy (EMDR)
  • Somatic Therapy (Trauma-Informed Yoga)
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

This allows therapy to address both the mind and the body, supporting nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and deeper self-understanding.

Healing doesn’t have to be forced or figured out all at once.
Sometimes it begins with having a space where you don’t have to hold everything on your own.
