About Shannon Kossick

Nevada Trauma Therapy & Counseling

I’m drawn to this work because I care about creating a space where people can feel safe enough to settle in and get curious. I don’t believe you’re broken — even if parts of you feel overwhelmed, reactive, or stuck. So much of what we struggle with lives in the nervous system, not because we’ve failed, but because our bodies learned how to survive.

My work tends to resonate with adults who are capable, reflective, and tired of feeling like they should be handling things better by now. It’s so easy to feel caught in old stories or disconnected from your body. You might feel “too much,” “not enough,” or just out of sync with yourself. You’re not alone in that. So many of us move through the world carrying more than we even realize.

In our work, we pay close attention to what’s happening inside your nervous system — your emotions, your body, your story — without judgment. Therapy isn’t about forcing big change; it’s about creating enough safety for the small shifts that start opening new possibilities.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), and trauma-informed yoga teacher. I’m trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) through the EMDR International Association and Internal Family Systems (IFS) through the IFS Institute.
